Accessorising your airsoft gun is something that everyone does at one point or another in a variety of different ways, some for practical reasons…others for not-so-practical reasons. Flashlights and lasers are one of the mainstays of airsoft accessories due to their practicality, as well as their cool factor – it’s undeniable, for some reason lasers are just fun. Choosing between the myriad of accessories out there can be quite difficult – you need to factor in what you’re looking to get from it i.e. if it’s a torch what lumens you need, or what space is available etc. At the end of the day, like most things in airsoft it comes down to looks, so you’re basically choosing the most practical out of the best looking!
The Swiss Arms 70 Luxeon tactical torch is one of the most versatile flashlights on the market, as well as being extraordinarily cost effective. In the box you get the flashlight, 2x CR123A batteries, mount ring, pressure switch, push-button switch and allan key. Mounting the tac-light is simple; place the flashlight into the mount, choose between the buttons (pressure pad or push-button), and then loosen out the main bolt to slot it onto any RIS/RAS rail…that’s it!
The pressure pad is a nice touch – routing it to a vertical grip allows a more natural usage, illuminating any dark corners where needed. That said the push button can be handier as you do not need to keep the button pressed, though it can be a little more awkward. This torch is 70 lumens and provides good solid illumination, whilst not being too powerful that it drains batteries at an astonishing rate.
